SITUATION

The increasing demand in infrastructure for data transfer and digital telephony services, surpassed the response capacity of the company in order to deliver its corporate traffic services within the promised time-periods to its clients with corporate traffic requirements, it also had difficulties in order to deliver services in hard-to-reach areas and wherein it is not easy to install means of communication by land.

SOLUTION

It is one of the biggest international companies offering a great diversity of products and services for the oil and natural gas industry, which are aimed at drilling, evaluation, conduction, production and intervention of wells, along with the construction of pipelines and start-up.

SITUATION

As consequence, because the client was awarded with a very big project to integrate its services regarding exploration and exploitation of natural gas and oil wells in Mexico, it needed to add to its products / services an option in order to establish communications with remote areas wherein this activities usually take place, they required satellite connection services, first for Mexico and later also for South America. They also needed to solve the dispatch and transmission of data from mobile units requiring data interconnection from places wherein there are no means of access for land communications.

SOLUTION

Elara provided the client with a solution designed for any of its needs, from an IP Satellite Network to the integration of the adequate equipment for its mobile communications requirements; by doing so it was able to meet the requirements of the end customer regarding connectivity for voice, data and video in any location, as well as for specialized vehicles in oil operations. .

MINING SECTOR

CUSTOMER'S PROFILE

Mexican company with over 50 years of experience in the mining sector, being one of the main mineral exploration and extraction companies in Mexico and one of the most important copper producers in Mexico, Peru and the US.

SITUATION

Due to the fact that the units of the mining company are usually located in isolated sites, wherein the existence of land infrastructure is not very likely, the client considered a broadband satellite solution was required, both for backup links and for primary links and for services for the mining communities. Projects undergoing production require corporate links enable them to access to its private network and allowing them to maintain the direct control over its network hosting equipment owned by the client at Elara's teleport.

SOLUTION

Because the company required some services as redundant, and because almost all the services required by the client to this date are high demand services, Elara suggested the integration of an IP cloud that would enable them to take advantage of the "backup" satellite segment in the services permanently operated with the satellite link as the main means of communication, generating in such a way savings regarding the solution.

By means of hosting routing equipment at Elara's teleport, absolute and direct control and access to the client's network from its corporate offices is enabled, with no need of intervention by Elara's personnel for reconfiguring and/or modifying configuration parameters of its network.
